About the Event

Travel by boat, bus, trail and plane to visit women's groups in the SW delta, school girls and reforestation projects in the Paloung hill tribe area, and the Dry Zone—an impoverished area in mid-country and a new area of NCP support for women's microloan projects. Stay in villages for an up-close encounter with the people and culture, enjoying amazing food and warm hospitality. Experience first-hand the amazing impact of grassroots development work among women's groups, along with successful reforestation projects. Meet girls who are now or who formerly worked in sweatshops in Yangon to hear the backstory on how our clothes are made, by whom, and at what cost to the workers.

Leaders: Tin Maung Kyaw, David Radcliff

Cost: $925 ($825—student) (plus roundtrip airfare to Yangon)
