About the Event

Join this expedition deep into the Ecuadorian Amazon. We will explore the rainforest, guided by Siona shaman Delio, and hope to see all manner of monkeys, birds, insects, and pink dolphins. Visit the ceibo ("Spirit Tree") and learn about medicinal plants and shamanic practices. Encounter Cofan, Quechua and Sekopai indigenous communities, as well as NCP efforts to work with them to protect the forest. Along the way we will observe the impacts of oil drilling, ranching and other factors. While in the forest, the group will stay in comfortable jungle lodges, and possibly in one or more villages. Learn more about the rainforest! http://www.rain-tree.com/facts.htm

Co-leaders: Delio, David Radcliff Cost: $900 ($825 student) (plus airfare to and from Quito)
